You may book one of our tennis courts up to a week in advance by calling reception on 020 7433 2127. Complementary court hire is strictly for members only and members should swipe in at reception before using the courts. Members are welcome to bring a guest subject to a guest fee of £15 for adults and £7.50 for children.
Adult tennis coaching (members only)
From individual tennis lessons to group sessions and tennis clinics, we have something for everyone and UCS Active is the perfect place for tennis in Hampstead. Coaching is tailored to individual needs and our experienced tennis coaches focus on any or all aspects of the game depending on your requirements.
Adult Group Tennis: Beg/Int. Every Tuesday from 7-8pm, a max of 6 individuals per session, £10 fee paid to reception, booking need to be made in advance.
Cardio Tennis Class: All abilities welcome, every Thursday from 8-9pm

Kids Active tennis (members only)
Our very popular 10 week tennis courses are a fun and inspiring way for kids to develop their individual tennis skills whilst benefitting from the social and group dynamics. Combining skills training, team games and mini tournament, these action packed tennis courses are expertly delivered by our specialist children’s coach. Becci holds the Development Coach Award (DCA) Level 3, is LTA licensed and specialises in Mini Tennis, Junior Coaching, Cardio Tennis, Beginner and Improver Adult Coaching and Group Coaching. Playing tennis from 5 years old, Becci was a junior county player before captaining the ladies first tennis team whilst studying at King’s College London. Her passion for tennis is shown both on court and in her sessions...motivating 3 year olds to play tennis is no easy task!
Nick is LTA licensed and has over 15 years experience coaching beginners, national juniors, two year olds, 82 year olds and everything in between – even hitting with the young Andy and Jamie Murray. Previously a coach at The Gleneagles Hotel and Head Coach at South Seas Plantation, Florida, Nick competed in County and National Juniors, gained a tennis and academic scholarship to the States, and now plays for University College London 1st IV and the University of London Union.
Justin is an LTA level 4 Senior Club Coach and PTR Professional with over 25 years teaching experience. Specialising as a technician, Justin teaches basic laws and principles as well as requisite tactical, mental and physical application. Justin educates his students to a high standard giving them a solid game for life. Some of Justin's pupils are now themselves tennis coaches.

Ben is a fully licensed LTA Level 3 coach and has been part of the UCS Active team since the age of 15. He has worked as Becci's assistant during Saturday morning group sessions for over 5 years. Now a coach in his own right, Ben specialises in juniors but offers individual lessons for players aged 5 and upwards. He is dedicated to bringing the best tennis out of players of varied abilities, in a fun environment. Ben has captained the UCS Active men's singles team and has also represented Brampton LTC in the Middlesex League.
Gary is an LTA Level 3 development coach with a BSc Hons in Tennis Coaching Managment. Gary became a professional Tennis Coach in January 2012 and has spent the past six years delivering coaching and competition programmes to all ages and abilities and managing the coaching teams, memberships and course bookings. He is passionate about service excellence and delivering the health and well being benefits of sports and leisure programmes.
Jo Grant Baisley
Jo has over 10 years experience coaching tennis across primary and secondary schools, as well as various tennis clubs in England. She has also gained experience coaching tennis abroad across the Auckland region of New Zealand. She enjoys developing tennis players of all ages and abilities, including previously working with visually impaired children. As a junior, she played tennis to a county standard for Hertfordshire and more recently represented her university as team captain. Alongside work as a tennis coach, Jo is also a qualified physiotherapist working locally and interested in injury rehabilitation as well as strength and conditioning.
