Children's Dance Classes
10 week Ballet courses under the expert guidance of professional dancer and children's instructor Cinzia.
Pre-Primary Ballet for 3-4 year olds develops children's physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression and musicality. It aims to improve motor development and physical fitness, increase self-control, coordination and self-expression and develop sensitivity to music through movement.
Primary Ballet for 4-5 year olds promotes the enjoyment of movement as a form of physical exercise, encouraging self-expression whilst building children's physical skills, creativity and expression and self-confidence.
RAD Grade 1 Ballet for 5+yrs provides a broad practical dance education, developing the technical, musical and performing skills of children. Through the use of musically inspired exercise and dance, children learn joy in movement, creative interpretation and sense of dance and performance quality.
All students will be prepared and encouraged to take The Royal Academy of Dance graded exams. However, this is not compulsory and other arrangements can be made.
10 week fun, high energy Street Dance course with professional dancer and experienced children's dance teacher.
Street Dance is a fusion of dance styles including classical jazz, commercial jazz and street dance. It is characterised by the use of improvisation and influenced by rhythms and technique.
A fun, high energy dance class to boost children's confidence, control and general fitness alongside the latest chart hits! Each class will include a warm up (including games for the younger children) designed to increase fitness levels, develop suppleness, strength and stamina. Followed by set exercises to develop technique and coordination. Finally, an upbeat, step by step routine with sections of improvisation to encourage children to think creatively and express themselves.
Cinzia Mika is a Royal Academy of Dance graduate. Her passion for Ballet originated in her hometown Sicily where she danced professionally at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. Throughout her dance career Cinzia has also obtained a diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology as well as a qualification as an instructor for The Lotte Berk Barre method of exercise. Cinzia is an experienced dance teacher who has a warmth and compassion towards all her students.
